Tax Preparation and Income Support

The Urban Upbound Tax Assistance program offers year-round free tax preparation to people who generally make $85,000 or less, persons with disabilities, seniors, and taxpayers with limited English proficiency who need assistance in preparing their tax returns.

Urban Upbound’s free tax services offer a smart alternative for NYC families who are often forced to pay high fees through paid services that can cost hundreds of dollars. Providing free tax preparation services enables qualified working families and individuals to take advantage of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) – which provides an important lifeline in tough economic times, and the ability to utilize every dollar of their tax refund, thus increasing their purchasing power or allowing them to start a savings plan.

Why file with Urban Upbound?

All tax preparers are IRS certified and trained in providing quality tax preparation services. Tax preparers are qualified to prepare returns that include many credits and deductions. Our team also screens for public benefits such as SNAP (food stamps) and helps clients enroll.
